MT. TALAMITAM & MT. APAYANG TWIN DAYHIKE

After resting from climbing for almost 3 months, I decided that I needed a break from everyday stress and pressure from work. Few days before the long weekend (Eid'l Fitr), I started looking for events together with my Baratpacker friends Toff and Bryan, and ended joining A's Adventure PH  headed by Alex Barbadillo.

Mt. Talamitam is one of the popular mountains of Nasugbu, and adjacent to it is Mt. Apayang, which was opened 2 years ago to public. Jump-off point is located in Sitio Bayabasan, Brgy. Aga. If you're looking for a perfect chill climb, maybe these twin mountains are what you're looking for.

The trail is different from other mountains I climbed in Nasugbu, compared to Mt. Pico de Loro and Mt. Batulao. The trail also reminds me of Mt. Ulap because of its New Zealand ambiance. It will take you almost an hour (depending on your phasing) from the jump-off point to the foot of Mt. Talamitam. The view is a perfect grassland and recommended for beginners. The cool breeze will cool you down despite the summer's heat.

From the foot up to the summit of Mt. Talamitam is a less than hour trek. From the summit, you can capture a nice view of Mt. Batulao and its jagged peaks. You can also enjoy a halo-halo and an iced cold Mountain Dew. If you're looking for a photogenic spot, then the summit  is the best place and strike a pose like Angel Locsin.

Yeah, that's Mt. Batulao and its jagged peaks.

The descent from Mt. Talamitam's summit to the shoulders of both peaks (Apayang) is quite an obstacle because of the overgrown grass. Otherwise, it can take to 30 minutes up to Mt. Apayang's summit. The view from the summit is not different from Talamitam. The Maragondon range of Cavite is also visible from there.

We finished the trek at around 11am and decided to do some beach side trip at Ternate, Cavite.
